Visit from Member of Parliament, Robert Buckland

St Joseph’s College was delighted to receive a visit from our local Member of Parliament, Robert Buckland, on Friday 20 January.

Mr Buckland met three groups of students and was happy to take any questions they had for him. He discussed international politics and local social issues with a group of Year 12 and 13 A Level History and Sociology students. A Year 9 History class asked him about the state of British democracy and the NHS. Finally, he met the Year 8 Student Voice Representative, who asked him about his personal experiences of being a Member of Parliament and about how to get involved in politics. Mr Buckland was open and informative with his answers and the students appreciated the time he took to meet them.
