St. Joseph's Catholic College

Congratulations to our Year 11 Students

Our Year 11 students have done well and produced a good set of GCSE results overall.

The vast majority of our Year 11 students have worked hard for these results and thanks should also go to their parents and teachers for all the support they have given”

In a time of huge turbulence in the examination system, with changing rules and a tightening of standards it is good to see that so many of our students have done so well. A particular well done must go to Mathematics where levels of progress were outstanding with 80% of students achieving A*- C, which is well above the national level which was 63%. English results at 68% were also above the national average. Overall 69% of students achieved 5 A*- C grades and 58% including English and Mathematics. A good proportion of students achieved the higher grades with 44% gaining A* - B.

A special word of congratulations to Rachel Delahay who achieved eleven A* grades
