Music is delivered to all students in Years 7 – 9 and we also offer a GCSE option for Years 10-11.

The Music department aims to develop every student’s knowledge of different musical cultures, styles and eras through composition, listening and musical appreciation. Students are encouraged to explore and develop their musical skills by following a varied Programme of Study. Students have the opportunity to work individually as well as in groups.

Extra-curricular Music
The department is able to provide a number of musical activities for all students. These include: Orchestra, College Singers, Rock School, Musical Theatre, and Brass Ensemble. Students are encouraged to come along and take part.

Musicians from the college regularly take part in concerts with students from others schools and the wider community.
We also provide a venue for instrumental tuition and students should come and see Mrs Cooke if they would like further details about this activity.
